Creamy Biko

Bring the beloved Biko to new flavorful heights by adding a generous swirl of NESTLÉ Cream. The result is a luscious, caramelized rice cake that strikes the perfect balance between sweet and creamy.

 

Ingredients: 

  • 50 grams glutinous rice, rinsed well
  • 1 3/4 cup Water
  • 2  pieces pandan leaves, tied (optional)
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed coconut cream
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 packet NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream

 

Steps:

  1. Cook rice with water and pandan in a pot or a rice cooker. (30 mins)
  2. Meanwhile, simmer ½ cup of coconut cream in a pan. Cook until coconut cream curds start to separate from the coconut oil and turn golden brown. Strain and set aside. (15 mins)
  3. Combine the remaining ½ cup of coconut cream, sugar, NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream, and coconut oil in a large pan. Add cooked rice and gently mix until well mixed. (15mins)
  4. Transfer to a serving container and top with the golden brown coconut curd. Serve warm. (5mins)

 

Ube Halaya

This decadent purple delight is a feast combined with flavors and smoothness that will make you crave each bite.

 

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams purple yam, rinsed well, peeled, and cut into cubes
  • 3 tablespoons    Butter
  • 1 packet NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream
  • ⅓ cup NESTLÉ® Carnation® Condensada
  • ⅓ cup Evaporated Milk
  • 1teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Butter
  • 3 tablespoons Cheese

 

Steps:

  1. Simmer purple yam in just enough water until very tender. Mash with cooking liquid. (30 minutes).
  2. Add butter, NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream, NESTLÉ® Carnation® Condensada, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Cook over medium heat while mixing continuously until thick and chewy. (30 minutes).
  3. Brush lyanera with the remaining 1 tsp of butter. Transfer Ube Halaya and set aside to cool. Place in the refrigerator overnight. (overnight).
  4. Transfer Ube Halaya on a serving plate. Grate cheese on top and serve. (5 minutes)

 

Creamy Cassava and Pandan Cake 

It’s a flavor-packed delicacy that’s a favorite when it comes to celebrations. This comforting Pinoy dessert always wins.

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces young coconut, shredded and reserved coconut water
  • 5 pieces Pandan Leaves
  • 500 grams cassava, peeled and grated
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 packet NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 piece coconut, freshly grated

 

Steps:

  1. Combine coconut water and pandan leaves in the blender. Purée to extract color and flavor. Strain and set aside. (5mins)
  2. Mix pandan water, grated cassava, sugar, NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream, shredded young coconut, and salt. Transfer into an 11x7 cake pan. (10mins)
  3. Steam cassava mixture for 1 hour. Set aside to cool completely. (2hrs)
  4. Cut into serving pieces and coat with grated coconut. Serve immediately. (10mins)
