Cinnamon Sugar Muffins Recipe

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt if using, then set aside.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar for about 20 seconds until mixed.

Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the egg mixture and stir.

Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined to avoid dense muffins.

Distribute the batter evenly into the 12 muffin cups, using a little more than three tablespoons per cup.

Bake for 14 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, then let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes.

If not already done, melt the butter for the topping.

In a medium bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon for the topping until well combined.

Dip the tops of the muffins first in the melted butter, then in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
